Hospitality experts set to converge for 2nd IHTEF

In the face of the persisting economic downturn, experts and stakeholders in the Nigerian hospitality industry are converging once again in Owerri, the Imo State capital, to discuss way forward for the industry in the second edition of the International Hospitality, Tourism and Eco-Sustainability Forum (IHTEF).

The forum, which holds from April 4-5, 2017 at the New Concorde Hotel, Owerri is under the theme: “Roadmaps to Excellence, Pathways to Progress”.

Aimed at assisting players, especially hospitality managers with tips on how to stay afloat in this hard time, the event will have in attendance top tourism experts, including Ikechi Uko, founder, Akwaaba African Travel Market.

Drawing from his wealth of experience across Africa and global networking, Uko will be speaking on “Hospitality and Tourism Excellence Versus Sustainable Progress in Sub-national Governments”. Besides Uko, other speakers include; Ifeanyi Ubah CEO, Capital Oil, and President, FC Ifeanyi Ubah; Michael Pinder, group managing director, Sun Heavens Hotels, among others.

Ubah, the oil mogul, will be speaking on the “Nexus between Sports Tourism & Economic Growth”, while Pinder will speak on “Beyond 2020: Disruptions, Disruptors & Challenges Before Hotels in Nigeria”.

According to the organizers, the 2017 event will focus on workforce development, big data, and revenue management, noting that the maiden edition, which was a huge success was powerful and revealing. The orgainsers stated that more bigwigs in  tourism sector will be confirmed to speak at the event in the coming days, while encouraging hospitality and tourism enthusiasts across the country to keep a date with IHTEF 2017.

IHTEF is organised by Sustainable Eco6tems and other partners, including Hotel Human Capital, Arsenal Golf& Country Club, and Woodstar Hospitality.
