Global stocks higher as Fed, Bank of Japan in focus

Global stock markets were higher on Monday as investors awaited the outcome from the Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan policy meetings later this week.

KEEPING SCORE: Britain’s FTSE 100 jumped 1.5 percent to 6,808.74, while France’s CAC 40 rose 1.2 percent to 4,386.11. Germany’s DAX gained 0.7 percent to 10,350.64. Futures augured moderate gains on Wall Street. Dow futures rose 0.4 percent, while S&P futures advanced 0.5 percent.
