Nigeria’s government has launched its tax amnesty programme tagged Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme, to boost its tax base as well as the number of tax payers.

The VAIDS which is to run for eight months from 1st July to 31st of March will be backed by an Executive Order signed by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo and targets the addition of atleast 4million new tax payers to the database.

Launching the scheme, on Thursday at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, the Acting President declared that every Thursdays will now be tax days.
