Negotiations between the Federal Government and the organised labour on the increase in the pump price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS)  on Monday night, ended in a deadlock .
There were indications that the government team which consisted of Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang; and the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, could not convince the labour leaders.
The negotiations are expected to resume later today (Tuesday) at 3pm. The closed door meeting which held at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) lasted till about 12am Tuesday morning.

Briefing journalists at the end of the meeting the SGF, Babachir Lawal, told newsmen that the two parties had “a fruitful discussion and will continue from where we stopped” but refused to answer further questions .

The Federal Government, however, commence another round of meeting with the Joe Ajaero-led faction of the labour movement at about 12.15am on Tuesday after the meeting with the Ayuba Wabba-led Nigeria Labour Congress.

Wabba also confirmed to newsmen that  discussions with the Federal Government would continue as stated later today.
