The Federal Government has handed over the remains of former minister of state for labour and employment, James Ocholi, who died alongside his wife and son on March 6, along Abuja-Kaduna express road for interment.
Speaking on Thursday at the valedictory session held at the High Court premises, Lokoja, the Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello, said the late Ocholi approved himself a brilliant, honest and most respected legal practitioner. “I wish to strongly believe that the legal Lumina did well in his life. The Kogi State government and the people will never forget him,” he said.
He also said Ocholi was not dead but sleeping, adding that the Kogi State government and the people of Kogi shall never forget him, saying they will immortalise his memories and remember his surviving children and show them love.
He lamented that his son, Joshua, the heir, also died alongside him with his jewel wife, stressing that the two members of his family that die with him would also be remembered.
He prayed that God would continue to deliver them from unexpected accidents.
Also speaking, Justice Ibrahim Atadoga Shaibu, said Ocholi lived an incredible life, adding that he was an epitome of dedication in all he choose to do.
“I have always described him as a special breed. He was a complete detribalised Nigerian, his humility was to no equal,” Shaibu said, and prayed that God give his surviving children the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
