An explosion has rocked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) offices in Calabar, the capital city of Cross Rivers State.

Though the number of fatalities is yet to be ascertained, initial reports put the figure of the dead at about 10 and over 30 injured in the incident.

It was gathered that it was a gas explosion.

Initial fears were that it was a bomb blast.
