Dayo Adewole, abducted ex minister’s son regains freedom, thanks Nigerians

Dayo Adewole
Barely 24 hours to the abduction of Dayo Adewole, son of immediate past Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, the abducted son of the former Minister of Health was on Wednesday’s evening regained freedom from his abductors.
Recall that Dayo Adewole, a newly-wed, agricultural economist was abducted by four unknown gunmen in the midst of his staff on Tuesday evening at Iroko village, near Fiditi, where he runs a commercial farming business in Afijio local council area of Oyo state.
BusinessDay gathered that a combined security search team, including men of Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army and local hunters being led by Leye Oyebade, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 11, had earlier declared manhunt for the abductors of Dayo, engaging in a serious combing of the tick forest within the axis which led to the recovery of the vehicle with which Dayo was kidnapped.
Later on Wednesday, the Assistant Inspector General of Police briefed the press on the arrest of three suspects in connection with the crime, including Dayo Adewole’s driver who was employed a few days ago, Gbenga Ogunleye; the farm manager, Sodiq Adebayo and another worker on the farm whose name was withheld as of the time of filing in this report.
Speaking on the release of Dayo on the condition of anonymity, a family member who claimed to have been involved in the process of Dayo’s recovery, declared that it took an order from the Presidency for the security forces to swing into action and fished out Dayo and his abductors.
Meanwhile, when the source was asked whether there was any demand for ransom by the abductors before Dayo was released, the family source, who was quick to tell our Correspondent that the abducted son of the former Minister was recovered not too far from where he was abducted, immediately kept mute.
He later answered our Correspondent that, “there will be a press release on the whole incident by the family later.”
Also, the twitter handle of the former Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology in Osun state, Oluremi Omowaiye, who is an indigene of Ijesa, just like the Adewoles, also confirmed the release of Dayo Adewole by his abductors.
BusinessDay reports that Oluremi Omowaiye’s twitter handle, tagged @remiteo under the headline – “Ex – Minister of Health Son, Dayo Adewole regains freedom, thanks Nigerians” has a video clip underneath where Dayo was shown thanking Nigerians for their support and prayers while he was still in the captivity.

“I would like to thank all Nigerians for their support and prayers while I was away and I am glad to be back”, he said.
