An Abuja Federal High Court sitting before Justice Ramat Mohammed has granted the former acting chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Mohammed and his son, Abba Mohammed to bail.

The duo, who are facing a four-count charge on conspiracy and fraudulent possession of the sum of N300 million from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, were granted bail in the sum of N300 million and two sureties in like sum.

The sureties must have landed property in Abuja, which must be equivalent to the sum of N300 million, while one of them must not be below grade level 12 for Abba, while one of Haliru’s sureties must not be below the level of a director in the Federal Civil Service or any of its agencies.

The court also ruled that documents of the properties must be submitted to the court, while officials of the court are to verify the documents tendered.

While the defendants and their sureties are required to submit recent passport photograph before the court, the defendants are also to submit their international passports before the court.

Pending the perfection of the bail conditions, Abba, who is suffering from Bronchal Asthma, is to be remanded in Kuje Prisons while Haliru is to remain under supervision of the Inspector General of Police.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter to February 16, 2016, for trial.
