A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Abiodun Dada Awoleye, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to build on the success recorded during the just concluded elections.
While saying that this is necessary to defend and save the current democratic dispensation noted that INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega has set a solid foundation in the commission for those who will succeed him Addressing journalists shortly after he received his certificate of return from INEC as the winner of March 28 House of Representatives election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Ibadan, Awoleye described Jega as a man who has written his name in gold not minding many odds against him and his office.
The lawmaker, who won the seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), while scoring INEC high in elections locally and internationally, adjudged as freest and fairest elections since the return of democracy 16 years ago, urged the commission not to rest on its oars in giving Nigerians more credible and acceptable elections.
