President Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday, met with Senate president, Bukola Saraki, behind closed door inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, shortly before departing for South Africa.
The meeting, which lasted for less than an hour, was categorised as private as no statement was issued afterwards.
Emerging from the meeting, Saraki, who was visiting President Buhari for the fourth time since getting into office, declined to speak with journalists. The Senate president was seen without his retinue of aides.
However, the meeting it was gathered may not be unconnected with submission of the 2016 budget. It can be recalled that the President at their meeting had urged the Senate to expedite action and to treat the 2016 budget with the same urgency it did the list of ministerial nominees, once submitted.
