The trial of the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki has again been stalled, due to the failure of the Department of State Security (DSS), in whose custody he had been kept, to produce him in court.
At the resumption of his trial before Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf of a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, counsels to both the defendants and prosecution frowned at the absence of the NSA, for the fact that the DSS never communicated to them on why they could not produce him in court.
Instead of parties to wait another extra one hour to see if the defendant would be brought to court, the counsels urged the court to adjourn the matter to May 17, 2017 for the continuation of trial since the matter was slated for May 16 and 17, 2017.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Dasuki on a 19-counts charge bordering on money laundering and criminal breach of trust alongside a former Director of Finance at the office of the NSA, Shuaibu Salisu, former Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Aminu Baba-Kusa for alleged diversion of N13.6 billion.
