APC campaigns for Buhari as Muslims observe Eid-el Maulud

JNI calls for Fatwa to regulate this year Eid-el-Fitr Celebration

As the Muslims faithful in Nigeria joined their counterpart all over the world to observe Eid-el Maulud, the birth of Prophet Mohammed, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has called on them to vote President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the party in the 2019 general elections.

APC said with the launch of the APC manifesto for the 2019 election campaign tagged “Next Level”, Nigerians are now faced with a choice of returning the President Buhari administration which is rebuilding the country in all facets; has broken from the tainted past; chosen accountability over waste; probity over impunity and the people over a self-serving cartel.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary APC stated this in a message of felicitation to the Muslim Ummah on the joyous occasion of Eid-el Maulud which celebrates the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

Issa-Onilu, said, “the occasion calls on Muslims and indeed all Nigerians irrespective of religious affiliations to apply the teachings of Prophet Mohammed which borders on peaceful coexistence, tolerance, justice, charity and piety as we collectively work for the peace, progress and development of our dear country, Nigeria.

“With the official flag off of political campaigns ahead of the 2019 general elections, we are at a critical juncture where we must make the right choice in who leads us at all level of governance.

“We must be wary of the empty promises and antics of the same people who oversaw the ruining of the country and now parade themselves as newly-converted saints with promises of a Nigerian Eldorado.

“Our hat trick victories in the bye-elections conducted last Saturday in Katsina, Bauchi and Kwara states is yet another solid expression of the continued support larger sections of Nigerians have for the Change Agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration. We must build on this momentum and support going into the general elections.

Meanwhile, the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA has congratulated all Muslims in the FCT on the occasion of the Maulud of the noble Muhammad for the Islamic year 1439 after Hijra.

Muhammad Bello, FCT Minister in a message of felicitation to the Muslims community used the occasion of the public holiday to thank all FCT residents for their support to President Buhari, the Federal Government and the FCT Administration.

Bello said, “as we look forward to the 2019 General Elections, I call on all FCT residents to go about politicking and canvassing in peace, harmony and the fear of God Almighty.

“I appeal to you all to continue to work for the peace and unity of our beloved country, Nigeria. Once again, “Happy MAULUD NABIYY”.
