Twelve ships laden with various products, including petrol, are waiting to berth at the Lagos Ports, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Tuesday.

The NPA made this known in its daily “Shipping Position” made available to newsmen in Lagos.

It said that four of the vessels contained petrol.

The NPA said that seven other ships would berth with bulk fertiliser, while another one would berth with general cargo.

It said that 34 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected at Apapa and Tin-Can Island Ports between July 18 and Aug. 28.

“The expected ships are carrying buck wheat, containers, general cargoes, lubrication oil, bulk fertiliser, bulk corn, bulk sulphur, bulk sugar and petrol,’’ it said.

NPA also said that 21 other ships were currently at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, diesel, bulk fertiliser, bulk charcoal, bulk corn, bulk gas, petrol and container. (NAN)
