Since January 1, 2025, Uzoamaka Oshogwe has been in a new role, as the new MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, a leading hospitality company in Nigeria, with Transcorp Hilton Abuja as its flagship property.

Prior to her resumption, the notice of her appointment in the middle of December last year, by the company to the investing public and the Nigerian Exchange Limited, excited the staff members, the management of the hotel company and the Nigerian hospitality industry for some obvious reasons.

While some are excited over the anticipated fresh breath, others look forward to the continuation of the legacy of Modupe Olushola, who she took over from, especially her huge focus on expansion drive, enhancement of product and facility offerings, and operations that align with world best practices.

For Tony Elumelu, chairman of Transnational Corporation (Transcorp), the parent company of Transcorp Hotels Plc, who was thrilled to welcome the new MD/CEO, Uzoamaka joined at an exciting time in the company’s growth and expansion, as it continues to redefine hospitality across Nigeria and beyond.

However, Uzoamaka has distinguished herself, amid a successful career spanning three decades in companies across the world including: Ford Motors UK, J. Sainsbury Plc UK, Accenture UK, UBA and most recently Afriland Properties Plc where she was the MD/CEO till December 2025.

Moreover, her visionary leadership at Afriland was instrumental in the completion of Afriland Towers in Marina, Lagos, an architectural masterpiece; Heirs Towers building in Victoria Island, Lagos, and luxury residential projects including ‘The Residences’.

Truly, she brings a wealth of experience in leadership, business transformation, and strategic management. A seasoned executive with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results, she is poised to steer Transcorp Hotels into an exciting new chapter of growth and expansion.

With all the above going for her, Uzoamaka’s new employer expresses confidence that with her experience in developing large-scale luxury projects, her leadership will propel Transcorp Hotels Plc to greater heights as it expands its assets, including the 315-room Transcorp Hilton Lagos project in development and the soon-to-be-launched 5000 capacity event centre in Abuja.

Uzoamaka, who holds a B.Sc in Chemistry from Ambrose Alli University, Edo State, an MSc in Information Systems Design from the University of Westminster, London and a professional certificate in Real Estate Management from Harvard Business School, USA. She is an Alumna of the Lagos Business School and IESE, Barcelona in Spain, having attended the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) and Chief Executive Programme of the institutions.

Professionally, she is a RICS accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator, a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administrators and also a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of Transcorp Hotels is happy that she hit the ground running on her first day at work, stressing that her proven expertise in driving strategic growth and delivering value align perfectly with the company’s vision.
