Transport, Aviation ministers, others to speak at National Tourism Summit

Emirates offers to assist in setting up Nigeria’s national carrier

The stage is set for the 3rd edition of The National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo scheduled to hold on December 7th and 8th with the theme: Repositioning Tourism and Transportation Mobility and Connectivity to Revitalise the Economy with several sub-themes that may be of benefit to you.
In a release signed by the Lead, Main Organising Committee of the NTTS 2020, Shettima Abdullahi FITP, he said, the summit is in line with the federal government commitment and sheer drive to reposition the economy approved during the 15th National Council on Transportation (NCT) meeting in Sokoto in August 2017.

Abdullahi said, it is with the collaboration of the federal ministry of transportation and other government and non-government agencies together with the private stakeholders across the transportation and allied industries, to work together to promote tourism and transportation, as a result of the importance of mobility and connectivity to national development and sustainability growth.
He stated that, “Over the past two years, the event has enjoyed a great participation of ministries, organizations and individuals within and outside the country from the tourism; travel, transportation and all related industries.

The 3rd edition of the National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo was earlier scheduled for April 27th to 28th, but was postponed due to, the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to consequently reduce the risk of spreading the disease while complying with the government measures.
He stated further, “The postponement provided opportunity for us to expand the involvement of more federal, state ministries and agencies. We have 34 Federal Ministries and Agencies as members of the Inter – Ministerial organizing committee”.

The secretary to the government of the federation is expected to lead on the policy direction of the Federal government, leading on mass transportation, minister of transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi with the support of the minister of state for transportation, Gbemisola Saraki while the minister for information and cultu re, Lai Mohammed will lead on the tourism and cultural sector”.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika will lead on the challenges, and progress of the Aviation Sector Road Map. Other sessions will include keynote presentations from captains of industry, transportation and tourism experts, lead specialists and national international organizations, and agencies under the federal ministries of transportation, information and culture. Lined up during the 2020 Gala Night event include summit and expo, awards and dinner/gala nite.
