Post subsidy: Travellers paying up to N22,700 on Lagos to Warri trip

The cost of travelling from Lagos to Warri in Delta State has more than doubled on the back of the increased pump price of petrol with the removal of petrol subsidy by the Federal Government.

Travellers, who previously paid between N‎10,000 to N‎15,000 on average as the transportation cost from Lagos to Warri, are now paying between N15,000 and N22,700 depending on the transport company and the location in Lagos where you are travelling from.
A road trip from Lagos to Warri takes a minimum of 11 hours following the Benin-Sagamu expressway. However, the hours can extend depending on the route, traffic, and other road stops.

BusinessDay evaluated three popular transport companies and discovered that Libra Motors now collects N20,000 on a trip from Lagos to Warri in Delta State; God is Good Motors charges N22,700 while Peace Mass Transit charges N15,000.

Warri is one of the most popular towns in Delta State that people frequent on a regular basis. The town of Warri is an oil hub within South-South Nigeria. People travel to the town for business, visitation or to have fun.
