The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has partnered with Voice of Nigeria (VON) to promote local automotive development.
This was stated at the NDDC official X (formerly Twitter) handle when Jibrin Baba, director-general of VON, led a delegation of top management staff of VON on a courtesy visit to Joseph Osanipin, director-general of the NADDC at the council’s headquarters in Abuja.
NADDC and VON’s partnership aligns with efforts to create sustainable, efficient transport and local solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
Designed to address key challenges facing the nation’s automotive sector, the Nigerian Automotive Industry Development Plan being implemented by the National Automotive Design and Development Council is making the desired impact.

“Everything you are doing in terms of research, and enhancing industrialisation will continue to highlight all these milestones as we work together because we showcase what we are doing, we are showcasing Nigeria and that is what we are determined to do,” Jibrin Baba, director-general of VON said.
Joseph Osanipin, director-general of NADDC while emphasising the seven pillars of the nation’s auto policy, reiterated the council’s commitment to repositioning the sector through the development and promotion of locally manufactured parts.
“In the next few years, if not this year, we want one of the major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to start operation back in Nigeria. We are working on that, with expectation, we want to commission some laboratories that will facilitate our efforts in developing local components,” he said.
