The MG HS, a fully-fledged SUV, has continued to attract interests since it became available in the Nigerian market boasting a variety of features, including a rear parking camera, heated mirrors, and automated headlights, among others.
The MG HS also has a lane-assist system and blind area warning, which sounds an alarm if another car is in the lane or in the driver’s blind spot.
Anurag Shah, general manager of Stallion MG Automobiles Ltd., the official representative of the British brand Morris Garages in Nigeria, indicated that the car’s rising popularity is likely due to the high-quality features it has.
“Auto enthusiasts are discovering that MG HS is not only value for money when compared with its competitors in terms of safety, styling, interior design and equipment, but the car also comes with more, either in number or sophistication and quality,” Shah stated.
Evidently, MG HS recorded a 5-star rating, the highest from European New Car Assessment Programme (EuroNCAP), the company says in a statement.
While the engineers behind the MG HS did not attempt to reinvent the wheel, “they successfully stocked to the four-letter word- MORE, while adding modern and futuristic features that empower HS to effectively undercut its rivals,” Shah added.

With a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, the MG HS has a virtual instrument panel, making it easy to view all the important driving information.
Shah also claimed that HS fills a void in the market for comfort while driving, particularly for Nigerian auto lovers. He listed the paddle shifters as one of its features, which enables one to change gear while still holding the steering wheel without having to move one’s hand to the gear lever.
“This feature does not only add to your driving comfort, but it also makes gear change safer and quicker,” Shah said.
The SUV provides racing-style sports bucket seats for the driver and passengers. These seats provide lumbar support and include a six-way powered driver seat and a four-way powered passenger seat. Additionally, it has a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control AC, and a rear AC vent.
The MG HS has a push-button start, supersport, and eco-driving modes, and is powered by a 2.0-litre high-efficiency turbo engine with a maximum speed of 210km/h and 360Nm of torque.
“If you’re looking for a mid-size SUV that offers great levels of safety and incredible value for money, MG HS is your sure answer,” Shah added.
