Carloha Nigeria, the authorised importer and franchise holder of Chery vehicles in Nigeria, has launched the Chery Tiggo 9 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), strengthening its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions and expanding the range of electrified vehicles available to consumers.
The vehicle, which combines electric and petrol-powered driving, was unveiled at Carloha Nigeria’s showroom in Alapere, Lagos. Company executives said the model is expected to offer improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions and an extended driving range compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.
Speaking at the launch, Hai Wei, managing director of Chery Central Africa, described Nigeria as a strategic market for the brand’s expansion plans in Africa, citing the country’s large population and growing demand for advanced mobility solutions.

The event also featured demonstrations of Chery’s artificial intelligence and robotics technologies, including a humanoid robot known as ‘Kemi’ and a robotic dog, which were used to present the vehicle during the unveiling ceremony.
