Zahav Automotive Nigeria Limited, a Lagos-based vehicle manufacturing company, has donated two units of specially built and fully equipped pick-ups to the Nigeria Police Force. The double-cabin Zahav pick-ups built at the company’s plant in Ikotun, Lagos, were presented to the Police at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Making the presentation, Mohammed Lawan, a senior manager in Zahav, representing Nasser Jammal, the managing director of Zahav Auto, commended the Police for its efforts towards reducing the rate of crimes in the country. Lawan said the donation was the company’s contribution to the crime fighting activities of the Police.

He said that being a company conscious of the need to identify with the environment where it operates, Zahav would continue to discharge its corporate social responsibility to the society. Receiving the Zahav pick-ups on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Fakai, a deputy inspector general of police, assured that the vehicles would be usefully deployed.

Zahav pick-up vehicles are produced in 4×4, 4×2, single-cabin, double-cabin, petrol and diesel variants. The Ikotun plant has the capacity to produce 24,000 units per annum (about 2,000 a month) and will soon start trial production of Zahav SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles).
