Suzuki targets taxi market, others with Swift Dzire

The authorised dealer/distributor of the Suzuki brand of automobile in Nigeria, C&I Leasing Group, has once again stepped up the automobile retailership business with the launch of all-new Suzuki Dzire in the country with the target market segment as its target.

With the new small passenger model offensive, the Suzuki family in the words of Vikram Mehtani, managing director, C&I Motors, was based on its findings, which confirmed the popularity of the small car segment.

He spoke with motoring journalists after the unveiling of the vehicle at the company’s outlet office in Lagos. Apart from the taxi business, he said the vehicle would also do well among young people, especially those who just secured employment.

In addition, young couples in the middle class would fancy the vehicle because of its small size and budget price offering, adding that a lot of companies looking for operational vehicles that are not really expensive, below N3m will be interested in the Swift Dzire,” Mehtani said.

He described the new entrant as an irresistible car for people who desire efficient and comfortable sedan. “The Swift Dzire is an absolute new automobile from Suzuki stable, which I hope will help us tremendously to increase our presence in the entry level sedan segment of the local automobile market, which offers a great promise.”

According to Mehtani, the Swift Dzire is a new offering in the sedan segment that combines an appealing shape with high fuel efficiency and robust engineering design. The introduction he explained, had helped manufacturer cross the bridge between hatch-back vehicles represented by the Suzuki Alto and Celerio and the midsize sedan, represented by Suzuki Sx4.
