Oando, lubricant makers for Lagos Motor fair & Autoparts expo

Oando Plc is among the Oil companies head to this year’s Lagos Motor. The automotive lubricants maker is by this move joining other stakeholders in the industry in their commitment to bringing the fight against fake and adulterated lubricants and transmission fluids to the doorsteps of consumers. Leading names in the production and sale of best grade and world class engine oil and lubes have booked stands to showcase the best in the sector at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos; venue of this year’s Lagos Motor Fair and Autoparts Expo Nigeria holding from May 16-24, 2013..

These local companies and their foreign counterparts BKG Exhibitions organizers of both events which is in its eight and second editions respectively said are poised to ensure that the menace of fake and adulterated lubes are highly reduced to make automobile consumers enjoy their vehicles for a long time. The products range includes additives, lubricants, greases, adhesives and wiper blades amongst others.

Oil companies heading for the exhibitions are Mobil which includes Mobil 1 and allied products Oando with Oleum range of products and Performance Enhancing Products Limited (PEPCO) with its range of Bardahl products. Others are Ascon Oil ,Transguard and automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), Coin Ventures Limited and, Lubcon Oil.

According to a source from one of the company, “a strategic platform as the 8th Lagos Motor fair offers is very ample opportunity for us to demonstrate to consumers the world of differences between the genuine and faked products and thus educate them that they need to patronise the right products to enhance the efficiency and durability of their vehicles. So my company being a proactive one will be there because it is a forum to meet our target market in their large numbers.”

In reaction, the organising committee of the event commended the high interest being showed by these lubricant giants; noting that providing a platform for all segments of the automotive sector to showcase their best and latest and thereby fast tracking the development of the sector in the country remains the main objective of the fair which is having its eight edition this year.“Virtually all the well known names are indicating interest and foreign companies are even coming in their large numbers too.”

Meanwhile, over 50 Original Equipment Manufacturers [OEM] of automobile spare parts from Turkey , China , India , Germany and South Korea have booked space at the event which is fast becoming the fastest growing auto fair in Africa .
