Weststar Associates Limited, general distributors of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge in Nigeria has announced the arrival of the new 2014 Grand Cherokee in what it described as another “best” from the America carmaker.

With its attention to detail and boasting best-in-class fuel economy, luxury, efficiency, innovation and confidence, Weststar said the Grand Cherokee’s standard of performance and luxury are unrivalled. This purebred is incredibly smooth to drive and easily controlled.

In terms of luxury, there is what the company termed as natural plus leather trim, open-pore wood and suede-like premium headliner.

Efficiency-wise, it has a new 8-speed automatic transmission which glides through gears, enabling quick acceleration and smooth shifting while the standard 3.6-litre V6 engine delivers 285 horsepower.

In terms of innovation; an 8.4-inch touch screen radio and a 7-inch configurable multi-view display are available.

It comes with over 60 standard safety and security options which  includes front park assist, adaptive HID headlamps, forward collision warning with crash mitigation and park view rear back-up camera with new dynamic grid line.

Other features include driver inflatable knee airbag, electronic stability control, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross path detection. Also, new steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters offer manual shift and control.

A wealth of vehicle information, entertainment, and communication options are literally at your fingertips.

For the Laredo, innovation comes as standard. That is why the Laredo version features all the technology and the performance you expect from a superior SUV and that make the Grand Cherokee a world-class traveller.

The exterior of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is identified by body-colour wing mirrors and door handles, chrome highlighted grille and the new signature tail lamp design. The Laredo rides on 18 alloy wheels, arrives with a 3.6 Pentastar V6 engine, a new eight-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch aluminum wheels, new cap-less fuel fill, an updated Uconnect System with a 5-inch touch screen.

On the Grand Cherokee Limited, the pursuit of innovation raises the bar of expectations. The Limited possesses everything a Laredo has and more. The standard Limited version features fine finishing, with all the substance a Jeep driver needs. Luxurious Capri leather-trimmed seating adds plush comfort.

Another spec is the Grand Cherokee SRT8: The distinctively aggressive and athletic styling makes a statement both day and night- Blackened bi-xenon headlamps look menacing by day, and a signature LED treatment announces the SRT by night.

New for the SRT is an eight-speed transmission that delivers power from the 6.4-litre HEMI engine via a fully electronic automatic mode or through redesigned steering-wheel paddle controls. The new package delivers improved acceleration of 100 km per hour in 4.5, with quicker shift speeds.

Engineered to tackle any environment, the new 2014 Grand Cherokee embodies many features that empower it and the driver. This is evident in the fact that the it is the most awarded SUV. For example, testing fuel efficiency, practicality, driving ability, comfort and features, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee won the Cars.com/USA Today Mid-Size SUV Challenge.

The 2014 Grand Cherokee is available for purchase, not only at Weststar, but also at any of its dealer networks. Experienced technical man-power, fully equipped workshops and remarkable service packages are also available. In addition, there’s the newly introduced Jeep+ Card. “This is a way of awarding our loyal Jeep customers with rewarding benefits” Said Mirko Plath, managing director of Weststar.

This resilient beauty simply exudes passion and greatness. Yet there is nothing simple about its expansive menu of capabilities that have been designed to work together in true harmony to combat harsh weather and master any type of terrain.
