Metro Taxi company recently donated a brand new Security Patrol Pickup Van to the GRA Ikeja Residents Association at Protea Hotel in Lagos to enhance security of life and property of the residents.
During the presentation, the Managing Director, Metro Taxi, Niyi Oguntoyinbo explained that the orgainsation decided to give back to the community where the company was located and doing business for the past two and a half years.
The move he said is Metro Taxi way of building a lasting relationship with their host community and also part of the company corporate social reasonability to the community to support the area of security of lives and property as the company hopes to do more in the future to improve the relationship.
He further stated that though this is the first of its kind for the company, there would be many to come. “We expect that we’ll be able to partner with other residential associations for sustainability on long term objectives, and plan that it would get bigger as we go on” Oguntoyinbo said.
The vice-president of the association, Debo Collins appreciated Metro Taxi for supporting the community with a patrol van that would assist in the reduction of crime in the area and advised other corporate organisations to emulate the kind gesture exhibited by the company.
A resident of the area Yomi Badejo-Okusanya and Managing Director, CMC Connect, commended Metro Taxi for the laudable initiative and prayed that the company flourishes increases so that they could do more for other communities in need of help.
Metro taxi commenced operations in 2010 with the objective of revolutionizing the public taxi transportation system in Lagos. The company operates a metered taxi system that ensures passengers pay for the accurate fare. The operators also offer accident insurance cover to both passengers and the Pilots.
