Jaguar Land Rover sales up 12%

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) sales in April increased 12% to 28,503 units and 16% during the first four months of the year. JLR announced that its sales were up 12% last month and retail sales made the month the best April ever.

The company said that sales increased in each of its major markets with Asia Pacific up 37%, China up 10%, the UK up 32%, Europe up 2%, North America up 6% and the other overseas markets increased 11%. Last month Jaguar sold 4,711 vehicles, up 12%, due to strong demand for its XF, which increased 26% and its variants, such as the Sportbrake.

Land Rover’s sales also increased 12% to 23,792 units, with sales doubling in Korea and Japan. The markets which saw a jump of more than 50% were Belgium, the Middle East and North Africa. In China, Jaguar sales were up 25% and Land Rover saw an increase of 6%.

“Sales of the Jaguar XF remain buoyant across many of our key markets and we are seeing the positive impact of the all new Range Rover, with approaching 15,000 cars sold in the first four months of this year,” said Phil Popham, director of group sales operations at JLR.
