He established the cyclical nature of cybercrimes and how that has posed a threat to the safety of man’s digital lives. According to him, “If it is smart, it is vulnerable”. Thus, as there is an emergence of new technologies, so is the increase in internet penetration.

During a panel discussion, experts discussed major online attacks, activities that make internet users vulnerable, and safety precautions to keep digital lives safe. They advised attendees to avoid clicking on random links, use strong passwords, and avoid using the same password for multiple platforms.

On Day 2, the conference focused on how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning affect cybersecurity. Timi Olagunju, a tech policy consultant, spoke about the role of government in securing the digital lives of its citizens. He highlighted the partnership between the Nigerian government and Microsoft to support the design and implementation of cloud-based tools to promote digital governance and security in Nigeria.
