Alcatel released its OneTouch Go Play into the very competitive smartphone market. But it has one very unique feature for a mid-range smartphone, and that is its IP67 water, dust, and shock resistance.
Alcatel OneTouch Go Play smartphone is geared towards the playful side of people. You can already tell from its pretty rugged design, durability and colour variety available.
Specifications
The phone comes with a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels.
The Alcatel OneTouch Go Play is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM.
The phone comes with 8GB (gigabytes) of internal storage and a micro SD card storage that can only go up to 32GB.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Alcatel OneTouch Go Play packs an 8-megapixel primary camera on the rear with flash, which is poor especially in low light conditions and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. This low quality camera might be a minus for Alcatel especially as the Go play is essentially geared to the younger generation who are more concerned about pictures and selfie camera quality.
The cool part is that the phone allows you to record things playing on the screen with the actual camera recording you whilst you’re doing anything with the phone. How cool is that? You can actually record your reactions whilst playing a game or listening to some music and then share your recorded reactions with friends on social media.
The mid range Alcatel OneTouch Go Play smartphone runs Android 5.0 and is powered by a 2500mAh non-removable battery, which lasts for a really long time.
As far as budget devices go, the Alcatel Go Play shows a lot more creativity in terms of design
The Alcatel OneTouch Go Play is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts a nano SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.

Because of its IP67 water resistant feature, the SIM Card, Micro SD, USB and headphone ports are all securely covered and protected from dust and immersion in water between 15cm and 1 meter in depth.
The phone comes pre-installed with all the basic apps you need including Whatsapp, Facebook, Google maps, Twitter, Intagram, Youtube, Chrome, Periscope and other mobile applications. More can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
Accessories
The Go Play comes with basic accessories such as the USB charging cable, free screen protector, a SIM card ejector pin and a pair of stylish looking earphones with removable tips. What I like most about them is the additional thin ear tips, which should help the earphones, stay in your ear especially when exercising.
