Babajide Sanwo-olu, governor of Lagos State has said governance will continue to meet digital infrastructure when young people use digital infrastructure to solve local problem.

The governor said this at GITEX Nigeria which was held in Lagos.

“We believe Lagos can ensure very young persons are given the opportunity to thrive and do well,” he said. “We believe they can use digital infrastructure to solve our problem and governance will continue to meet digital infrastructure.”

The governor noted that it is an honor to have GITEX in Lagos.

“We believe GITEX is an opportunity for a beautiful African story. We didn’t see why it shouldn’t be in Lagos because we saw sheer resilience and today, one of the biggest international conferences on our soul,” he noted.

According to him, Lagos is the city of stories and every tribe in Nigeria is represented. The essence of Lagos is diversity which is not just demographic.

Between 2019 and 2025, we have seen direct funding in startups. We have seen drops of dropmarine cables among others, the governor said.

“We are not just an economic powerhouse but Lagos unicorns have their roots in Lagos,” Sanwo-olu said. “Our vision lies in an unshakable belief that governance must be digital and inclusive.”
