Safi Education Limited has launched SafiMoyo, a learning platform that teaches foundational AI literacy to African students.
This is built around a structured learning model that guides students from early understanding to practical application and independent use of AI concepts.
SafiMoyo is designed to build foundational comprehension by positioning AI literacy alongside core skills like reading and mathematics.
This is driven by short, engaging video lessons designed to introduce artificial intelligence to African learners aged 4–18.
The rollout started with a soft launch on May 1, 2026 and a public launch on May 27, 2026.
Safi Educational Ltd enters the market at a time when conversations around artificial intelligence are increasing globally, but access to early, structured AI education remains limited particularly for younger learners in Africa.
“Our mission is to help African students understand artificial intelligence from the ground up,” said Evans Edeha, CEO of Safi Education Ltd. “If AI is shaping how the world works, then it should be taught progressively, just like any other foundational subject.”
The platform’s first phase focuses on short-form video lessons tailored to different developmental stages, ensuring accessibility and retention across age groups.
“We are not replicating classroom systems online,” said Uchechukwu Banye-Edeha, co-founder/director of learning and educational content at Safi Education Ltd. “We are building a learning pathway that helps students grasp what AI is, how it works, and how to think with it before they ever try to build with it.”
At its core, SafiMoyo is designed to guide students through curiosity-driven learning, encouraging questioning, exploration, and independent thinking within a controlled environment.
“SafiMoyo is built as a learning infrastructure, not just a product,” said Isaac Folarin, chief technology officer, Safi Education Ltd. “It moves students from basic understanding to confident application through guided, age-appropriate experiences.”
By introducing AI education early and in a structured format, Safi Educational Limited aims to expand access to emerging digital skills and prepare a generation of learners to engage more meaningfully with technology.
As Artificial Intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life, SafiMoyo positions itself as an early entry point bringing foundational AI education to students at scale across the African continent.
