Nigeria Computer Society [NCS], Ogun State chapter, has commended corporate members of the society for displaying high level of professionalism in the use of information technology [IT] tools to improve business processes in the country.
Among the professionals that were singled out for commendations are Yele Okeremi MD/CEO of Precise Financial Systems [PFS], and Niyi Yusuf, Managing Director of Accenture Nigeria.
According to Bukola Onashoga the outgoing NCS chairman of the chapter, the “recognition is in respect of the benchmark the individuals have set for IT excellence, leadership and vision actualization among IT industries and the community”.
Under the leadership of Okeremi, PFS handled cheque truncation exercise for Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System [NIBSS] and the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN], which has ensured that cheque clearing, is seamless. Aside, one of the company’s products, Clirec, is the foundation of accurate reconciliation in the banking sector; as 12 banks in Nigeria, 46 institutions in other sectors of the national economy, and over 34 institutions in Africa deployed the solution.
At Accenture, Yusuf occupied a recognisable position in the IT space and he has deployed IT to achieve success for several projects and systems improvement. He has managed the implementation and delivery of many turnkey projects for clients in various industries spanning manufacturing, oil and gas, banking, insurance and public sector.
She informed that Ogun State chapter’s programme is a biennial event by NCS where personalities and corporate bodies are celebrated for their involvement and outstanding achievements in IT development in the state and national level.
