Microsoft plans sack of employees around the world

Technology giant, Microsoft is planning to sack thousands of employees around the world according to a scoop from tech media platform TechCrunch.

The news platform reports that the planned lay off is because of the need to restructure the company. Following the restructuring, the enterprise customer unit will be required to merge with one or two units of its SME-focused divisions.

The mass sack may likely affect redundant employees in Microsoft’s Commercial Business. Bloomberg reported, citing an anonymous source recently, that the job cuts will be some of the most significant in the sales force in years and will also impact local marketing efforts in various countries.

It will be recalled that Microsoft had announced in July 2016, that it will cut 2,850 jobs over the year.
