These women are driving campaigns that reach millions, contributing to building products that solve complex problems, and shaping the future of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

1. Adia Sowho
Adia Sowho served as the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Nigeria from 2021 to 2024. She led the company’s go-to-market strategy across business units and for flagship products, responsible for about 90% of MTN’s revenue. MTN is the largest company listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, placing it at the center of its growth and product direction.

Before MTN, Adia worked at Etisalat, where she managed digital advertising, strategy, and business development. She also led growth at Migo, a fintech company focused on credit infrastructure for emerging markets. Her experience spans telecoms, digital strategy, and high-growth technology companies.

2. Blessing Abeng
Blessing Abeng is one of the leading women in marketing and communications in Africa. She helped grow the landing page product Disha to 24,000 users before it was acquired by Flutterwave. She later served as a senior communications executive at Hover Developer Services, the team behind Stax, an offline-friendly app that lets Africans make transfers without internet access. She supported the company’s expansion into more than 12 African countries.

Blessing also worked as Director of Communications and Co-founder at Ingressive for Good, an edtech nonprofit that has built a community of more than 250,000 African youths. Under her leadership, the organization trained and placed about 100,000 learners in software development and other tech skills.

 

3. Chika Nzekwe
Chika Nzekwe is a marketing leader who has built her career at the intersection of data-driven growth strategy and brand storytelling. At Traction Apps, she led cross-functional marketing efforts that led to the onboarding of over 10,000 small and medium-sized businesses through a data-driven approach and drove $1.2M in revenue. Chika supported Sales and Partner teams with repeatable messaging frameworks and workflow guides that strengthened customer engagement.

Throughout, Chika used strategic content to improve onboarding, engagement, and conversion for the teams she worked with. Beyond her corporate roles, Chika is a community builder who grew Growth Trybe to over 10,000 small business owners, demonstrating her commitment to empowering entrepreneurs at scale.

4. Damilola Odufuwa
Damilola Odufuwa is a tech executive and women’s rights advocate who has led marketing and communications for some of the world’s largest technology companies. She is currently the Head of Communications at Trust Wallet, a global crypto wallet used by millions.

Before Trust Wallet, she co-founded Backdrop, a travel tech startup, and led its marketing. She also served as Global Head of Product Communications at Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, where she drove communications for a range of consumer products.

5. Mohini Ufeli Ezekwesili
Mohini Ufeli Ezekwesili is the Marketing Manager for Paystack in Nigeria. Paystack is one of the country’s leading fintech companies and was acquired for 200 million dollars in 2020. Before stepping into this role, Mohini led Paystack’s media storytelling efforts as Media Manager and Managing Editor.

She also worked in the media and communications team at Andela, a global talent development and recruitment company. Andela raised 200 million dollars in 2021 and reached a 1 billion dollar valuation.
