Huawei has retained its position as the world’s leading vendor in the enterprise-class Wi-Fi 7 market, ranking No. 1 globally and in China by both market share and shipments, according to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Wireless LAN Tracker (2025 Q4).
The ranking marks the second consecutive year the Chinese technology company has led the segment since IDC began tracking Wi-Fi 7 performance in 2024, underscoring growing enterprise demand for next-generation wireless infrastructure and Huawei’s early-mover advantage in the space.
The company attributed its sustained leadership to a combination of heavy investment in research, active participation in global standards development, and accelerated commercial deployment of Wi-Fi 7 technologies.

Huawei has positioned itself at the forefront of Wi-Fi 7 development, emerging as the top global contributor to the standard. Its push into the market began in 2022 with the launch of what it described as the world’s first enterprise-class Wi-Fi 7 access point.
Momentum continued through subsequent milestones. In 2023, Huawei completed what it said was the world’s first commercial Wi-Fi 7 network deployment after passing independent testing by Tolly Group. By 2024, the firm rolled out a full-scenario Wi-Fi 7 product portfolio and secured the first enterprise-class Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 designation from the Wi-Fi Alliance.
To date, Huawei says it has shipped more than two million enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 7 units globally, reflecting rapid enterprise adoption as organisations upgrade network infrastructure to support high-density connectivity and emerging digital applications.
At the core of Huawei’s offering is its AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 solution, designed for large-scale deployments such as campuses, stadiums, and office complexes where network congestion is a major challenge.
The company said its proprietary multi-access point coordination technology, including Intelligent Coordinated Scheduling and Spatial Reuse (iCSSR), enables microsecond-level coordination between devices. Combined with smart antenna innovations, Huawei said the system can deliver up to double the terminal performance compared to industry averages in high-density scenarios.
Huawei is also extending Wi-Fi functionality into sensing and automation, positioning wireless networks as a platform for broader digital transformation.
Using Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI) technology, its access points can detect environmental changes without additional hardware, enabling use cases such as energy optimisation and intrusion detection when integrated with building management and security systems.
This aligns with a broader industry shift toward converged infrastructure, where connectivity, sensing, and analytics operate on a unified platform.
It added that security remains a key differentiator as enterprises scale wireless deployments. Huawei has introduced “Wi-Fi Shield,” an AI-based signal protection technology designed to ensure that only authorised devices can decode transmitted data.
In addition, the company launched the iGuard access point, targeted at sensitive environments such as executive offices and hotel rooms. The device uses AI-driven detection to identify hidden imaging equipment, addressing rising concerns around privacy and corporate espionage.
Huawei’s continued dominance comes as enterprises globally accelerate digital transformation, increasing demand for faster, more reliable, and secure wireless networks.

Shawn Zhao, president of the campus network domain at Huawei’s Data Communication Product Line, said the company plans to deepen innovation across integrated use cases, including Wi-Fi with IoT, sensing, and security.
“Our continued leadership reflects strong market recognition of our technology and product quality,” Zhao said. “We will keep advancing new applications to deliver more efficient and secure wireless solutions for customers worldwide.”
