DeepSeek AI is a wake-up call for America — Trump

After Trump’s show stopping return, powerless Democrats in US debate just how deep in the wilderness they are

Donald Trump, President of the United States, has called the development of DeepSeek AI by a Chinese company a “wake-up call” for American industries, urging them to focus on staying competitive.

In a recent statement, Trump said, “The release of DeepSeek AI from a Chinese company should be a wake-up call for our industries that we need to be laser-focused on competing to win because we have the greatest scientists in the world. Even the Chinese leadership told me that.”

Highlighting the advantages of the development, Trump noted, “China has come up with a faster and much less expensive method of AI, and that’s good because you don’t have to spend this much money. I view that as a positive, as an asset.”

The President also outlined his administration’s commitment to bolstering the nation’s technology sector. “Under the Trump administration, we’re going to unleash our tech companies and we’re going to dominate the future like never before,” he declared.

Trump’s remarks follow his recent order revoking AI regulations introduced by his predecessor, which he criticised as hindering innovation. “Last week, I signed an order revoking Joe Biden’s destructive artificial intelligence regulations so that AI companies can once again focus on being the best, not just being the most woke,” he said.

The President expressed confidence that American industries can maintain their leadership in AI, drawing attention to the brilliance of scientists in places like Silicon Valley and Seattle.
