Nigerian-based automated savings and investment platform, CowryWise has offered a closed number of its customers the opportunity to experience its new mobile application before its formal launch.

The mobile app which is set to hit the market on 20 March, 2018 is a response to customers’ demand.

“We are using the app as an opportunity to introduce more retail management products, we call “Life Goals” and more flexible saving options” Razaq Ahmed, the CEO told BusinessDay in a chat. “#BeyondSavings is the theme, meaning we are adding more layers to value, much more than just savings.”

‘Life Goals’, he explained, enables users to save and invest responsibly for long term financial goals with convenience.

The mobile app which was designed entirely by a team in CowryWise with design inspirations from an artist called Shutabug, is an additional channel to the web version and Sisi, the company’s Facebook Messenger chatbot.

The chatbot, Sisi, gives customers access to their CowryWise savings account. Through guided chat interaction, the chatbot helps users save money, check their saving balance, returns as well as see all their savings plans.

Ahmed told BusinessDay that he expects users on the web to move naturally once the mobile app is launched in March.

“Users will have same experience and access to the same suits of savings products,” he said.
