Coca-cola is taking consumer experience and its drive to deepen product attraction to social media users to another level with the launch of a custom built ‘selfie bottle’ which will take your picture while you slurp on the drink.

The innovative design reported to have originated from Coca-cola Israel, by the Gefen Team for the Coca-Cola summer love campaign, Israel’s largest outdoor brand event, emerged after its makers spied a gap in the market for novelty drinks.

How it works is that a camera is positioned in the base of the Coke bottle and activates when you tip the bottle 70 degrees.

After taking the selfie, consumers can share their pictures on social platforms like Facebook, Instagram or SnapChat. Just be sure to hold it the right way up or you will be taking pictures of your chin or ears.

A statement from the Gefen Team explains further “Users tag themselves and their friends in photos on Coca-Cola’s social media assets. It really does the trick and makes the party-goers more present and active during the event, knowing they can share their moments just but drinking.”

The agency has for long masterminded a number of stunts including a ‘social robot’ to give teenagers the chance to remotely attend the festival according to The Drum.
