Ceragon Networks Limited, the global number one wireless backhaul specialist, has commissioned its new office in Lagos, Nigeria equipped with state of-the-art broadband revolution facilities.

The Company revealed that investing in the Nigerian IT space shows its desire to ensure mobile and fixed-line carriers, as well as private network operators, have the cost-effective transmission capacity to deliver the voice and premium data services.

Managing Director and Country Manager, Ceragon Networks (Nigeria) Limited, Mr. Abbas Danjuma, said that the new facilities boasts of state of-the-art products that are applicable for LTE services.

“In other words, we are ready for broadband revolution in Nigeria. Every telecom company now is focusing on leveraging frequencies spectrum at their purview to gain more bandwidth and capacity. So, what we are doing all along as specialist is focusing on microwave transmission. We have spent a lot of money on R&D trying to develop products for the market”, he said.

Danjuma stated that the company has tried its state of the art technology in other countries and it believes that Nigeria is ready for this revolution, saying, “Our product is set for the LTE or ‘datacentric’ network, globally. We are not the cheapest, but customers choose us for our capabilities. We have done it in Colombia, India and currently upgrading about 6,000 network links in Philippines for LTE. In Nigeria we have started talking to some operators to help them to meet the demand capacity of the market”.

“We are on the ground; know the terrain and we have been tested. We are still helping the customers with their pain points. For instance, power is still an issue in the market; therefore, we deploy equipment that has low power consumption which saves them the opex. We have been helping the operators install smaller antennas to save costs,” he added.

Speaking at the official launch, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ceragon Networks Limited, Ira Palti said, Nigeria is a very large country and therefore requires cutting edge technology for data deployment, hence Ceragon Networks will be a major player by providing the backbone infrastructure to link different access methods and provide internet data services.

“from telecommunications operators to mobile service providers, public safety to offshore operations, energy to distance learning, in today’s interconnected world, everyone needs network capacity to provide the latest services, expand into new markets and to meet the growing communication demands of people and devices,” he said.

He also stated that the company promises affordable, high-capacity network solutions, designed to eliminate bottlenecks with cost-effective, high-capacity and future-proof hauling connectivity while boosting network performance and services.

“We have the best equipment in the microwave transmission. We have invested much on R&D and surveys including in Nigeria. Due to the structure of Nigeria, there are a lot of limitations on the frequency spectrum. Then, our equipment can provide the best use of the spectrum. We usually provide almost 30% additional capacities than anyone else,” he disclosed.

Palti said, “We have equipment to double that which gives the customer about 200% high capacity and can effectively use the spectrum to provide data to the excess towers, backbone, carriers, ISPS, government and anywhere data is needed.”

“From our customers, we have seen that there will be a lot of investments, driven by the econometrics, change in the government and the regulator been able to provide more open data.

We have seen that happen in several other countries; where the Government through the regulator, collaborates with the private sector to solve infrastructural challenges which drives investments in data capabilities. We see that also happening in Nigeria”.

President, Africa and Latin America, Ceragon Networks Limited, Amit Ancikovsky, said that the company takes pride in the many industry-advancing achievements introduced to the market and the advantages they have provided to the customers.

“This is our sixth year of doing business in the country with all the large network carriers and enterprise businesses. We will not relent in providing our customers with quality engineering services and technical supports which require local presence of qualified engineers. We have trained them overseas and now they are back to operate from our Lagos office; that will definitely enhance our business plans,” Ancikovsky said.
