Every week since October, bitcoin has managed to keep us glued to the edge of our seats. With new all-time-highs becoming a new way of life for the crypto, we might as well take off the roof.

Within the space of one week, bitcoin has added over $2,000 to its price.

On Saturday evening it climbed to over $9,000. As at 06:60 Sunday morning, it set a new record high of $9,043.21 on the Coindesk Prize Index.

As at time of writing this story, the price has moved to $9,043.72 on the Coinmarketcap.com index. This represents a 4.95 percent in the past 24 hours and 15.17 percent increase in the past seven days. Other crypto prices showed significant improvements. Ethereum also hit an all-time high of over $460.

Bitcoin’s price gains boosted the combined market value of all cryptocurrencies to yet another high of $285 billion with bitcoin accounting for almost $151 billion.

The crypto have been on an unstoppable run since the latter half of 2017. It was valued at $1,000 at the beginning of 2017 but is gradually inching closer to $10,000. Bitcoin’s value surpassed $5,000 and $6,000 only in October and rose over $7,000 and $8,000 in November.
