ASUS, Taiwanese Personal Computer (PC) manufacturer, has been recognised as the number-one Taiwanese brand in the Best Taiwan Global Brands Awards 2013. Even in tough market conditions, the ASUS brand value has showed resolve and maintained a steady climb, and is now estimated at N282.32.billion (USD 1.711 billion).

This achievement, according to the firm, marks the eleventh continuous year that ASUS has made the top-three list of international Taiwanese brands. “Our In Search of Incredible brand promise finds the balance between technology and humanity as we transform users’ expectations of mobile computing, giving them new ways to interact with their devices,” said Jonathan Tsang, vice chairman and president at ASUS. “ASUS is passionate about technology and driven by innovation.

We dream, we dare and we strive to create an effortless and joyful digital life for everyone. We’re always in search of incredible ideas and experiences — and we aspire to deliver the incredible in everything we do.” The Best Taiwan Global Brands Awards is held by the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C and global branding consultancy Interbrand.

The awards are seen as a key indicator of the position held by Taiwanese brands in the global market. The awards are given out based on brand value, which include the financial performance of the company, the role the brand plays in the consumer purchase decision, and the competitive strength of the brand.
