Airbus, GIZ tap Nigeria’s CcHUB for 3rd edition of #Africa4future

Nigerian-based technology innovation centre, CcHUB said on Monday, it will serve as the implementation partner for the third edition of Africa4future, the African Aerospace Accelerator organised by Airbus and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit German (GIZ).

The Africa4future is a platform through which Airbus is using to build bridges between the aerospace industry and the different players in Africa.

The 3-month programme will include virtual coaching sessions, expert sessions with Airbus experts in Europe, connection to industry experts locally, access to Airbus technologies, 250,000 up42 credit, showcase events in Africa and Europe.

The programme is open to African start-ups, service providers, software companies that are actively working on solutions in Agriculture and infrastructure sectors that are related to remote-sensing technology. This includes automation, blockchain, artificial intelligence, data analytics, material composites, manufacturing and more. Infrastructure refers to transportation/logistics mapping, water monitoring, waste management, real estate, urban development and other related areas.

CcHUB’s role as implementation partner will enable it provide strategic support and practical industry know-how to the startups to engage multiple stakeholders within their ecosystem and facilitate the connection with these global organizations.

Since 2017 when the programme began, 20 start-ups have been empowered with Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) hosting the first two editions across different locations in Africa.

The choice of CcHUB may not be unconnected to its recent expansion to Rwanda and it’s acquisition of iHub in Kenya, establishing its presence in three prime African countries. With its Pan-African presence, CcHUB is well positioned to provide the type of experience start-ups participating in the programme expect.

Information sessions will be held in 5 countries namely: Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Senegal and Morocco.
