The 2013 Valentine Season in Nigeria was unparalleled in terms of stars incursion and quality of events, as Grammy Award-winning soul singer Maxwell was on stage at the Classic FM 97.3 Valentine’s with Maxwell event.

The star who lured the ladies to dancing with his soulful hits including “Pretty Wings,” “Fortunate” and “This Woman’s Work” could not hide his joy of being in Nigeria for the first time. “It feels good to be in Nigeria for the first time. I never knew I would be here, but since I stepped into the country it’s been fun. I love the ladies I saw.” Nigerian music stars Omawumi, BlackMagic and Bez also delivered outstanding performances on stage.

Furthermore, its sister station, Beat FM also brought the Billboard Music conference for the first time in Nigeria on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Porsche Centre, Akin Adesola, Victoria Island.

The prestigious music conference organised by Beat 99.9 FM in conjunction with Billboard Music took a critical look at the Nigerian music industry and the way forward.

The conference, which witnessed the convergence of all stakeholders in the music industry such as Banky W, Eldee, Efe Omorogbe, Kunle Ayeni, Obi Asika, Chris Ubosi, Ayo Animashaun, Edi Lawani, COSON, among others, examined such issues as the size of the Nigerian music market and the opportunity, finance and the entertainment market, music and blogs, how to break into the US music market, music mobile and technology.
