Jumpsuits are still in vogue with classier and more beautiful designs. The appeal of jumpsuits is simple. They are easy to wear;  an embodiment of all-in-one fashion, and come in a variety of cuts and styles, which can take a lady from formal to casual, moderately to conservatively dressed with a flair for fun and sexy.

Designers sought to give it a contemporary flair, creating new, styles, colours, texture and cuts to flatter and appeal to most ladies and they are really succeeding as both slim and fleshy ladies can and do wear them without looking out of place or bloated.

Despite its obvious discomfort (zipped down or buttoned down depending on the designers preference) because of its imitation body suit design, it still manages to garner enough followers. Its trendy and chic look appeals a lot, as jumpsuits can be worn to work topped with a blazer or for an evening event.

Most jumpsuits have at least one really dynamic feature about them, be it really wide legs; a blouson top; loose, or harem design.

In fact, it is so simple and straight forward; you might not even be able to tell it is a one-piece outfit. And, it certainly does not scream ‘Look at me, I am a trendy jumpsuit!

If you are lucky enough to find a jumpsuit with such classic styling, then choosing the right shoes will seem simple by comparison: just follow the same rules you would for a comparable outfit composed of multiple pieces.

If you are still at a loss, try a pair of classic, medium-heeled shoes like a pair of pointy-toed pumps, or sandals that offer moderate coverage-nothing too dressy or strappy.

No heels? Yes, and no worries too. Warm-weather jumpsuits of this nature also look great with flat, dressy thong sandals.

Fitted or tight jumpsuits

Most people just cannot pull off a jumpsuit like this anyway, but if you are the type that can, then you might think that the last things anyone is going to be looking at are your shoes.

But, you would be wrong.

Well, okay, you might be right in some aspects, but people will still be looking at your shoes. How could they not?

For jumpsuits like this, you can typically go with the same footwear you would choose for leggings or cropped pants. Depending on the weather and whether you are going for a casual or dressier look, your best options are:

· Boots – just about any style or height heeled or flat.

· Flat thong sandals – for the most versatility, and for a more polished look, choose a delicate, feminine style. If you are going ultra-casual, you can get away with wider straps, or even flip-flops.

· Flats – think streamlined, narrow and simple. Ballerina flats would work, as would most pointy-toed flats. Jumpsuits like this one would also look really chic with smoking flats; or ultra-trendy with a pair of women’s oxfords.

· High heels – pumps or sandals will work here, but since an outfit like this is already a bit over-the-top, you will want to proceed with caution. Unless, of course, you are really looking for that much attention, in which case, just steer clear of anything too hefty, like thick platform soles or heavy heels.

Loose, baggy or casual styles

Not all jumpsuits that are loose or baggy are casual in nature, but when they are, your footwear should be too. For such styles put your best foot forward in a pair of combat boots or other flat ankle boots. Short, heeled boots will also work, but look for a chunky heel as opposed to anything that is too dressy.

If the weather is too warm for boots, then sneakers are one of your next-best choices. High tops or low tops will work, but for this outfit, I am definitely partial to simple, old-school styles like converse chucks as opposed to puffy cross-trainers or sporty running shoes.

For a laid-back, beach look, casual jumpsuits would also look work with a pair of really cute platform (or flat form) flip-flops.

Shoes for dressy, gathered jumpsuits

With it is gathered pants and draped top, this style of jumpsuit is also loose and baggy.

But it has full-length pants. It is also much dressier-which is good, because the length and fullness of this style really lends itself best to heels.

Flats, unfortunately, would create a very unflattering silhouette for all but the tallest and thinnest among us. And even then, heels would still be the best choice. You do not have to go ultra-high. In fact, mid-height heels would be a great choice, and even the right low heels would work wonderfully.

As far as styles go, look for simple, low-cut pumps; strappy sandals; dressier wedge sandals; or even simple slides. The volume of the jumpsuit lends itself to shoes that are a bit on the bulky side, but try to avoid anything too masculine or heavy, as those styles will trample the femininity of the jumpsuit.

What to wear with wide-leg jumpsuits

Easily, one of the most popular styles, wide-leg jumpsuits are also one of the easiest styles to choose shoes for, since the shoes are basically buried beneath the hem of the pants.

But just because they are not on full display does not mean you should wear just any old shoes. You want a style that can balance out the volume of the jumpsuit, and also one that is appropriate for the length of the pants. This will typically means heels, but the rules get a lot looser when it comes to which kind of heels you will want to look for. They can be chunky, wedge or thin heels; mid-height or taller; and both sandals and pumps will work equally. The wide-leg jumpsuits styles would include platform sling back pumps; wedge-heeled sandals; and cage or wide-strapped dress sandals. Let the time and setting of the occasion dictate whether you go for a pair of shoes that are dressy, or a style that is more on the casual side.

However, avoid getting too casual with your footwear choice. Jumpsuits of this nature look fabulous when they are dressed up, but can come off as a bit sloppy when they are not accessorised properly.
