An all star night of music

It was a night of fun and excitement as the top names in the entertainment industry came out en masse to witness the biggest concert of the year, MTV Africa All Stars.

The concert, which held on Saturday, April 13th at the Marquee of the Federal Palace Hotel, had pulsating performances from super acts, 2face, Davido, Ice Prince and special guest artiste, South Africa’s Professor.

The most anticipated tour of MTV All Stars from Durban, South Africa to Nairobi in Kenya and now brought to Lagos, in conjunction with Kwazulu-Natal Province. The stars stormed Nigeria with an outstanding performance by Tu-face, Ice Prince, Davido and Professor a South African star. Nigerian renowned and popular DJ’s: Dj Jimmy-Jatt, Dj Sose, Dj Caise, were on ground to make the event a fun blast.

The MTV Base and Kwazulu-Natal is a sensational new pan-African music and youth empowerment initiative that salutes the star quality and widespread appeal of contemporary African musicians, and it provides exposure to the continent hottest musical innovators and pacesetters. MTv All stars also aims to raise awareness for the international profile of Kwazulu-Natal as a premiere destination for tourism, culture and economic development.

The highest point of the night was 2Face’s performance which took guests down memory lane with heart lifting performances from his former music group, Plantashun Boiz as well as monster hits from his best selling albums.

“I’m extremely glad to be a part of this initiative. The MTV All Stars tour is a great platform for the Nigerian entertainment industry to showcase our incredible talent and potential.” 2Face said after the show.

Speaking at an exclusive press conference, which held before the show, Ice Prince also noted that, “The MTV Africa All Stars concert is definitely going down as a historic event and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”

South African star, Professor expressed his delight at being in Nigeria and thanked MTV for the opportunity”I’m happy to be in Nigeria for the MTV All Stars concert. This is my first visit to Nigeria and I’m grateful to MTV for this huge opportunity to meet and perform with some of the biggest names in the Nigerian music industry.”
