Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reportedly preparing a January move for Nigerian and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman.

The Yellow Canaries are understood to have opened talks with the Serie A club, submitting an initial bid of €25 million (approximately $26.4 million) for the Super Eagles forward.

However, according to Turkish daily Sabah, Atalanta are holding out for a fee closer to €40 million for the Super Eagles star.

Lookman, who is currently on international duty with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, is reportedly open to the move and sees Fenerbahce as a viable next step in his career.

As part of his assessment, Lookman is said to have consulted Nigeria teammate Victor Osimhen for insight into life and football in Turkey.

He also reportedly spoke with former Everton teammate Cenk Tosun, who is believed to have given a positive appraisal of both the Turkish Super Lig and Fenerbahce.

The former RB Leipzig attacker endured a slow start to the season at Atalanta, registering three goals and one assist in 16 appearances.

His season was affected by a strained relationship with former head coach Ivan Juric, which limited his playing time and disrupted his form.

Earlier reports in the Turkish media also linked Galatasaray, Fenerbahce’s arch-rivals, with an interest in Lookman ahead of the January transfer window, underlining strong Super Lig attention for the Nigerian international.
