Tottenham extend season ticket deadline amid relegation fears

Tottenham Hotspur have extended the deadline for fans to renew their season tickets as the club battles threat of relegation from the Premier League.

Spurs are currently just one point above the relegation zone and are without a win in their last 11 league matches. Pressure is also mounting on manager Igor Tudor after only four games in charge.

In a message to fans, the north London club confirmed that the renewal window for season tickets has been extended until June 7, after the end of the current campaign.

The club said it recognised the “seriousness of the current league position” and wanted supporters to have “full clarity on next season before renewing.”

“Everyone at the club remains absolutely steadfast in our collective commitment to improve our Premier League position and finish the current season as strongly as possible,” Tottenham said in a statement.

Pressure grows on Tudor

Tudor’s position has come under increased scrutiny following a poor run of results since replacing Thomas Frank last month.

Former England national football team defender Gary Neville described the Croatian’s brief tenure as a “car crash” that Tottenham should end quickly.

His criticism came after Spurs suffered a heavy 5–2 defeat to Atlético Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.

Tudor had selected reserve goalkeeper Antonín Kinský but substituted him in the 17th minute following a series of costly errors.

Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, Neville described the situation as chaotic.

“I thought the whole thing of the last few weeks and then that – the whole thing is just a car crash, a shambles,” Neville said.

Crucial fixtures ahead

Tottenham currently sit 16th in the Premier League, only a point clear of Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

They face a difficult trip to Liverpool F.C. this weekend before a crucial clash with Forest the following week as they attempt to avoid being dragged further into the relegation battle.
