Former Chelsea player, Daniel Sturridge, is aiming to be fit for Liverpool’s potentially title-deciding clash with the Blues on Sunday and insists he will celebrate if he scores against his former club.
Sturridge missed last week’s win over Norwich with a hamstring injury but is positive of playing at Anfield on Sunday.
During a Q&A session with the LiverpoolFC Foundation he was asked if he would play against Chelsea and answered: “Hopefully this weekend I’ll be back.
“I’m not too sure if the manager Brendan Rodgers will play me or not. We’ll have to see.”
Sturridge, who moved to Anfield from Chelsea in January 2013, says he won’t be able to contain himself if he nets a potentially crucial goal in the Premier League title race.
The 24-year-old said: “I would like to show respect to my former club but if I were to come on and score in the last minute I’m going to be on a mad one, aren’t I? I don’t know if I could control myself if that happened.”
