Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has called on his Galatasaray teammates to remain focused in their push for the Turkish Super Lig title after scoring a brace in their 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa.

Galatasaray currently top the league standings with 65 points from 20 matches, fueled by Osimhen’s outstanding form at Rams Park this season. The forward’s brace took his season tally to 22 goals and five assists in 28 matches across all competitions.

However, despite his heroics, Osimhen’s two goals were not enough to secure all three points at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium.

The draw allowed title rivals Fenerbahce to close the gap to just four points, intensifying the championship race.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen admitted his disappointment but praised his teammates’ resilience, urging them to stay focused in the battle for the title.

“I would say disappointment. That’s the best way to put it. We fought against an effective opponent,” Osimhen said, as quoted by Galatasaray’s official website.

“I am proud of my teammates because of their efforts. Football is like that sometimes. This is a really tough league. You have to fight well from the first minute to the last.

“You can be punished very quickly. We continue in the championship race. We have all the qualities needed to win.

“I love this team very much. I love my teammates one by one. I want to do everything for success. I want to support them. I think my friends have the same mentality.

“Whether they are in the starting XI or coming off the bench, it is crucial for everyone to fight together.

“I want to support my team no matter what. At the end of the day, we fight to win.”
