Victor Osimhen continued his sensational form with a brace as Galatasaray thrashed Sivasspor 4-1, taking his goal tally to 33 for the season.

The win keeps the Yellow-Reds’ hopes alive of securing a third consecutive Turkish Süper Lig title.

The Nigerian striker was clinical once again, netting Galatasaray’s second and fourth goal, before being substituted in the 70th minute for veteran forward Dries Mertens.

Osimhen’s double brings his season tally to 33 goals and eight assists in 37 appearances, making a total of 41 goal contributions across all competitions for the Turkish giants.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker has now surpassed his previous best season tally of 31 goals, which he achieved during Napoli’s 2022/23 Serie A title-winning campaign.

“It was important to break my record in my first season,” Osimhen said after the match, reflecting on his achievement.

Galatasaray now sit top of the table with 83 points from 32 matches, and all eyes are on their crucial derby against Trabzonspor next week, where Osimhen will be key once again.

Manager Okan Buruk’s side remain in strong contention for the domestic crown, powered by Osimhen’s prolific goal-scoring exploits.
