Premier League club Nottingham Forest on Sunday confirmed the appointment of Vitor Pereira on an 18-month contract, replacing Sean Dyche.

The former Wolves boss becomes the fourth manager Forest have hired this season, following a disappointing campaign that has also seen Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou dismissed.

“Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm that Vitor Pereira has been appointed as head coach on an 18-month deal,” a club statement read.

Pereira’s immediate task will be to steer Forest clear of the Premier League relegation zone. The club currently sit three points above the drop with 12 matches remaining.

Dyche was sacked following Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against bottom-of-the-table Wolves, despite Forest registering 35 shots without finding a breakthrough. He lasted just 114 days in charge, having succeeded Postecoglou after his brief 39-day reign ended in October.

Pereira, 57, had been out of work since being dismissed by Wolves in November after a poor start to the season. He previously guided Wolves to safety in the 2024/25 campaign after replacing Gary O’Neil, but was unable to replicate that form this term.

The Portuguese coach has prior experience working under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Greek side Olympiacos.

His primary objective remains securing Forest’s Premier League survival.
