Manchester United reportedly sent scouts to watch Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as he starred for Galatasaray in their 2-1 victory over Rizespor in the Turkish Super League on Monday evening.
Osimhen netted a crucial brace, securing three points for the Turkish giants and extending their lead at the top of the league to six points over Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
The 26-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 47th minute with a precise header from a Przemyslaw Frankowski cross. Although Rizespor equalised in the 54th minute through Abdullahi Sowe, Osimhen sealed the win in the 86th minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake.

His latest performance takes his season tally to 19 goals in 24 appearances, further cementing his status as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
Napoli are pushing to finalise Osimhen’s departure this summer, with several top clubs—including Manchester United and Chelsea—closely monitoring the situation.
United scouts were among representatives from over half a dozen clubs present in Rize, as the Premier League side explores attacking reinforcements amid struggles from Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund.
Chelsea, who previously attempted to sign Osimhen last summer, also remain interested as they face similar attacking concerns with Nicolas Jackson.
